Passengers aboard Homestead Towboat after being removed from the burning M/Y Hunter.  The yacht sank off the Intercoastal Waterway in Biscayne Bay and was refloated by BWMS the same day of the incident and later demolished.  On February 4, 2008, BoatU.S. awarded Capt. Carlos Galindo with the Woody Pollack for demostrating actions above and beyond the call of duty during a heroic rescue or live saving case.

  Blue Water Marine Services was founded in 1987, specializing in marine towing and salvage. Operating out of Card Sound, the company was originally known as South Dade Dockside. In 1988, South Dade Dockside moved north to Biscayne Bay, finding a home port and base of operations at Homestead Bayfront Marina.
